And he turned away from them and said: “O my grief for Joseph!” And his eyes became white from the sorrow he was suppressing.
He turned himself away from them and said, ‘What anguish is my sorrow for Yusuf!’ And then his eyes turned white from hidden grief.
And he turned away from them and said: "Oh, my sorry over Joseph. " And his eyes turned white from sadness, and he became blind.
Then Jacob turned away from them saying, "Alas, my grief for Joseph!" His eyes glistened with tears but he suppressed his grief. " (Jacob worried more about Joseph since he had no news of him yet. Many exponents at this point have ventured into strange guesswork. They report that Prophet Jacob became blind with grief and cried incessantly for eighty years grieving for Joseph! The Bible relates that Jacob lived to be 147 years old. Even so, it is not befitting of a Prophet of God, or even an ordinary person, to turn blind with grief and weep incessantly for 80 years. The whiteness of his eyes in this verse clearly refers to his eyes glistening with tears momentarily. And then he controlled his grief).
And he turned away from them and said: “O my grief for Joseph!” And his eyes became white from the sorrow he was suppressing.

But he turned away from them and said: "O woe is me for Joseph!"-and his eyes became dim from the grief with which he was filled.
And he turned away from them and said: Alas, my grief for Joseph! And his eyes were whitened with the sorrow that he was suppressing.
Then he turned his back to them, and said: "O my grief for Joseph!" His eyes whitened with grief and he was choked up with sorrow trying to suppress his grief.
He withdrew away from them and retired from their society, weeping and expressing his feeling of grief aroused by the loss of Yusuf. He said: " what a pity it is to lose Yusuf! " and he felt profound grief and mourned passionately to the extent that his eyes turned opaque and impenetrable to sight in the train of his mental pain and deep sorrow.
Jacob then turned away from them saying: "Now let me mourn for my Joseph. " His eyes turned white from grieving so much and he went into a deep depression.
And he turned away from them and said: "Alas, my grief for Yûsuf (Joseph)!" And he lost his sight because of the sorrow that he was suppressing.
And he turned away from them, and said: "How great is my grief for Joseph!" And his eyes became white with sorrow, and he fell into silent melancholy.
He turned away from them, lamenting, "Alas, poor Joseph!" And his eyes turned white out of the grief he suppressed.
He turned away from them and said, "How sad I am about Yūsuf!" and his eyes turned white with sorrow and he was suppressing (his anger and grief).
and he turned away from them, saying, ‘Alas for Joseph!’ His eyes went white with grief and he was filled with sorrow.
And he turned away from them, and said, 'Ah, woe is me for Joseph!' And his eyes turned white because of the sorrow that he choked within him.
And he turned away from them and said, 'O my lament for Joseph!' and his eyes grew white with grief, for he repressed (his woe).
He (their father when had heard this) said, "Nay, your souls have beguiled (tempted, diverted, deceived) you to something (that serves you). But patience is fitter for me. It may be that Allah will bring them all to me. Verily, He is Knower, Wise."
And he turned away from them and said, "O, how sorrowful am I for Yûsuf!" (Joseph) And his eyes whitened with grief that he was constantly repressed (with sorrow).
And he turned from them and said, oh how am I grieved for Joseph! And his eyes became white with mourning, he being oppressed with deep sorrow.
And he turned away from them, and said: "How great is my sadness for Yusuf (Joseph)!" And his eyes became white with sorrow, and he lost his sight overcome by unspoken sorrow.
And he turned away from them and said, `O my grief for Joseph!' and his eyes were drowned (with tears) for the pangs of grief and he was suppressing (his sorrow).
And he turned away from them and said, ‘Alas for Joseph!’ His eyes had turned white with grief, and he choked with suppressed agony.
