“So eat thou, and drink thou, and let thine eye be comforted; and if thou see any mortal, say thou: ‘I have vowed to the Almighty a fast, so I will not speak this day to any man.’”

Eat and drink and delight your eyes. If you should see anyone at all, just say, "I have made a vow of abstinence to the All-Merciful and today I will not speak to any human being."’

If you do not want to talk to a human being, simply use the sign language explaining that you have made a vow to the Lord to fast and not to talk to anyone today. "
