And as for Thamūd: We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of the punishment of humiliation seized them for what they earned.

وَاَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا الْعَمٰى عَلَى الْهُدٰى فَاَخَذَتْهُمْ صَاعِقَةُ الْعَذَابِ الْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَۚ
