Then those who did wrong among them changed the word to other than what had been said to them; so We sent upon them a scourge from the sky because they did wrong.

But those of them who did wrong substituted words other than those they had been given. So We sent a plague on them from heaven for their wrongdoing.

Our Heavenly Law of Requital caused them to weaken and waver, for they violated the Commands (2:59-61). Detachment from the Ideology made them lose their strength (5:22-24).
