Make thou not with God another god lest thou sit down condemned and forsaken.

Do not raise none to the level of God. If you do so, you will end up being disgraced and helpless.
Set not up with Allâh any other ilâh (god), (O man)! (This verse is addressed to Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم, but its implication is general to all mankind), or you will sit down reproved, forsaken (in the Hell-fire).
Take not with Allah another object of worship; or thou (O man!) wilt sit in disgrace and destitution.
