Every soul is in pledge for what it earned
Every self is held in pledge against what it earned,
Every soul is held by what it earned.
Every person is held in pledge for all that he has done. (52:21).

Every soul is trapped by its sins.
Every soul is pledged to what it does,
Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained
every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has wrought –
Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds;
Each one is a hostage to one's deeds,*
Every soul shall be pledged for its deeds,
Every soul will be held responsible for his acts.
Every person is a pledge for what he has earned,
Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.
Every soul will be detained for what it has done,
Everyone will be detained (in the Hell) because of what he did,
Every soul is held in pledge for its deeds,
Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned,

Every soul is held in pledge for its own deeds,
Every self will be pledged for whatever it has earned.
Every soul is given in pledge for that which it shall have wrought:
Every soul will be (held) to account for its deeds.
Every soul is bound to pay for its deeds.
Every soul is hostage to what it has earned,
