And there availed them not what they had earned.
so all that they earned was of no use to them.

And of no avail to them was all the power that they had acquired.

What they hoarded did not help them.
And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing.
So nothing availed them what they used to earn.
and of no avail to them was all that they had acquired.
And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not.
and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail.
And so be it, what they gained of skill and enjoyed of safety did not profit them nor help them accomplish a useful purpose.
Whatever they had gained was of no help to them.
And all that they used to earn availed them not.
And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)!
and all they achieved was of no help to them.
So, whatever they earned did not come to their help.

Neither was what they had wrought of any advantage unto them.
